Hello, I'm running AMD 3700+ and (2) XFX 6600LE on an MSI K8N-Neo4 SLI Platinum. I installed the latest x86 drivers from Nvidia. After hitting the "restart now" button, Vista shut down normally, and my machine restarted. I selected the Vista install, and the Vista loading bar comes up. After that, the screen goes blank, as in the monitor doesn't get a signal. I looked up a fix for it from Nvidia, and they say: "Window Vista, All GPUs: Installing a new driver will sometimes result in a black screen or no display. This is an issue with the current Windows Vista installation process. This can be worked around using the following instructions. 1 Uninstall all old drivers on your system using Device manager -> Display Adapter -> uninstall." My question is, how do I get to device manager if I have no display? And is there any other way around this problem other than re-installing Vista? Thanks.

Nvidia Drivers... then nothing
At this point in time most people are installing beta drivers on a beta operating system. In many cases, no good can come of it.
Both companies are still developing the final code, and many interactions are to be expected.
Are you certain you downloaded and installed the correct Nvidia drivers (beta) for VISTA - version 88.61?

I ran into the same thing. Apparently there is no native Sli support in the 88.61 Nvidial driver or in Vista itself.. I read on another forum that Nvida is working on a 90.xx driver that will fix this problem. I have had to physically remove my number 2 video card in order to get Vista to load. Once there, it crawls. Hope the new driver comes out soon. -- A8N-Sli Deluxe Athlon 64 3700+ @2805 Mhz 2 x Asus 6800 GT in Sli (sometimes) 2 Gig Memory 1 20 Gig HD 1 500 Gig HD

Go into safe mode and disable the second graphic card in the device manager. When you reboot the computer Vista will boot to the desktop.

I ran into the same thing, the only difference is that I have no SLi. This apparently is fairly common among old Nvidia graphic cards. I still didn't got it fixed... Hope I helped with all this useful information :P

I'm having this exact same issue. I have the newest drivers from Nvidia, and I've tried the beta drviers too. Blank screen after boot up. Was there ever any kind of fix for this, or do I just have to hope Nvidia starts making drivers that are actually operational?
